Albany Park

The community known as Albany Park extends from the west bank of the Chicago River to the east bank of the Edens Expressway (I-94). From Montrose Avenue on the south to Foster Avenue on the north, the neighborhood maintains a rich character of housing, shopping and local Chicago scenes. The community is well-situated on the northwest side of the city in close proximity to the CTA Blue Line at its terminus at Lawrence Avenue and Kedzie, in addition to numerous local CTA bus lines which provide connections to both the Blue Line and the Brown Line for easy access to the Loop and O'Hare airport.

Shopping is an adventure in Albany Park. Lawrence Avenue offers a collection of exotic ethnic stores featuring food, clothing and gift and specialty shops. Kedzie Avenue offers a number of highly acclaimed ethnic restaurants as well as specialty food stores.

North Park College, Gordon Technical High School and Northeastern Illinois University are all located within or adjacent to the Albany Park neighborhood.

Historically the neighborhood has offered a variety of housing in different styles and prices. From expansive single family homes along the Chicago River to affordable apartments in the heart of the neighborhood there have always been a number of housing choices available to residents in the neighborhood. Recently the trend toward condo development and conversion has made it's way westward from neighboring communities and now an increasing number of rehabilitated and newly constructed condo units are available for sale.
